Why you need a website

In today’s social world, you might think that you could get away with running a business without a website.  I know personally iPhone 90% of my clients through Facebook or Instagram.  I know several businesses that do not have a website and they only run their business on Facebook.  So you might be saying to yourself, “Why do I need a website?”

1.HAVING A WEBSITE MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE A PRO

Facebook and Instagram are wonderful tools to get your business out there but it should not the main hub of all of your galleries and portfolio.

You can organize all of your information, your portfolio, and awards all in one place. Facebook doesn’t have very powerful tools to find all of your work and information very easily. Instagram does story highlights on the top but there’s not really a good way of creating links and sign up tools. When you have a website you can be able to run all of your forms, contracts, galleries, proofing and everything from it. So it really becomes a grand central station for all the info that your client needs to know.

2. PEOPLE CAN FIND YOU ON SEARCH ENGINES  Google is still one of the top ways for people to find you.If somebody is searching for a local photographer in Virginia Beach then if you do not have a website there’s no way that you can be seen.

I used to have the business name Marshall Arts  Studio, but I found out as people were googling my name there is five or six other ones around the country and it was very confusing to find me. So I changed my name to Virginia Photos and Films and I rank much higher on searches for photographers and filmmakers in the area. If you want to be able to find you on Google and you get reviews from Google and yelp it might be a very good idea do you have a website.

3. ITS YOURSJust like if you finally decide to buy a house, it becomes your personal property that you can do whatever you want with it.Same it is with the website, you can decorate it however you wish and do your own branding.

When using just Facebook and Instagram you’re limited to just their interface – just like when you’re renting from a landlord, you have no say over what things get to be seen or how much you get to be promoted, or what even the design of it looks like. When you have a website it truly is your space on the Internet I can drive the customers in and tell your story in the way that you wish.
