As a portrait, headshot and wedding photographer 90% of my edits come from the Lightroom classic software program. .

.

I’m basically just using it to color correct, do basic clone brush tools for blemish and teeth whitening and basic crop functions. .

.

When I want to use Photoshop, I’m going to be using it for brochure creation, adding overlays, sunflairs, advanced editing tools like face swaps or extending the background in my studio digitally. .

.

So it really just depends on the kind of work you do and what your vision is. .

.

Learning both is essential to any photographer’s educational journey. But if you’re just starting out and don’t know where to begin, then doing a Lightroom might be a good place to get your feet wet.

.

.

Photoshop takes a little bit of a learning curve and it’s a much harder to batch edit for weddings and media quickly and easily. .
